It was a very clean place and a very good food ! I did think my food could’ve used a bit more seasoning but I’m used to Thai food from NY so I don’t have much of Maui to compare this to. I would recommend this place for sure ! The staff was very nice and the decor is great as well. I’d say the downside was that the food was definitely more on the expensive side. If you carry cash you can avoid a 3.5% extra credit card charge so make sure to carry some cash!
After a long tiring day at Maui, the petrichor was a welcome scent to the city and we were craving for something hot and soul satisfying. Needless to say, Google always recommends something that I like most of the time. This is a small restaurant, probably seats like 20 folks. Lucky me, I had 0 wait time. Ordered- Drunken noodles with tofu- tasted really great, quantity was good too. Basil fried rice with tofu- tasted really great. Quantity was good as well. Tom kha with tofu - served hot and needles to say, quantity was good. My only complaint was, it was too salty. I liked it, my wife did not. Restaurant is easy on your pocket unlike most other restaurants in Maui. Would I visit again? Absolutely.
We are 3 Vietnamese tourists. We just had the food today and the desert sticky rice was super good. Completely blown our mind. We had to order 2 more to takeaway. The owner is a kind lady that gave us some free deserts. We realized she was really happy when we completely finished the food. She gave us the feeling like our grandmother. Always happy to see the kids finished good food made by her.
Corny name aside, Tiki Tiki Thai Cuisine turned out to be pretty legit! We're regulars at Thailand Cuisine in Maui Mall so it was hard to stray from our favorite. ATMOSPHERE: Located in Dairy Center, there's nothing fancy going on. Parking can be an issue as the mall is heavily occupied. MENU: Thai apps, entrees and desserts. FOOD: Khao Yum Nam - $15.00 Though not stated on the menu description, this dry, curried rice dish was a bit spicy. Pass. Summer Roll - $11.00 I didn't try any as I don't care for summer rolls in general, but the spouse reported it as "good". Yellow Curry (with chicken) - $14.00 I almost mistook this for soup as there was an overabundance of liquid. Creamy, coconutty, delish. Pad Woon Sen (with chicken) - $14.00 Noodles are my weakness and this was a great choice. With subtle savory curry flavors, it had a good protein to veggie to glass noodle ratio. Tom Yum Soup (with chicken) - $16.00 My spouse and I are on the fence with this version. Compared to the recipe we're used to at Thailand Cuisine, this one tasted like it had little to no cream in it, still very aromatic due to the spices but was a tad overly salty. Thai Style Spicy Basil (with chicken) - $23.00 Hands down our favorite dish of them all. The ground chicken could've passed for ground pork! This dish reminded me of a goulash minus the macaroni and tomato sauce. Highly recommended. Crispy Spring Roll - $12.00 The only disappointment of the bunch as it came with just seven tiny cut up pieces of spring roll for the price. Good texture and flavor but not worth the price. SERVICE: My spouse did takeout (I wasn't there) and said the service was very good. OVERALL: Different flavors than we're used to. Our second favorite Thai restaurant on the rock.
