Johnny was so incredible to work with! We purchased a family photo session for my mother for Christmas. There are 11 of us, 6 adults and 5 kids so we are a large group to work with. Johnny was organized and had a clear vision for the photos. He was able to organize all the kids and capture some incredible group photos, which is just what we wanted! We are very happy with the photos we received and highly recommend booking with them!
Absolutely incredible! We have 4 kids ages 6 and under and we had multiple options with everyone smiling and looking at the camera. Michelle put my twin 4 year old girls at ease when they started to get worked up and made our whole shoot really fun. I cannot recommend enough!!
We vacationed on Maui the week of Christmas and at the last minute, I decided that I wanted to take some family/maternity photos. There were many photographers and companies to choose from; I combed through and selected my top 5. disclaimer: I am extremely picky when it comes to photos, editing (or lack thereof), photographer personality and skills. Lokahi Photography was beyond amazing to work with from start to finish. Read my long explanation below for all the deets!! One of my top choices had great pricing, reviews, and photo quality. But what set Lokahi Photography apart and made me choose them over all the other choices was their customer service and ease of communication before even hiring them. After my first conversation with Michelle, I knew that she was the right fit for us, and that she would be wonderful to work with. She spent time answering my 100 questions about location, pricing, weather, best conditions for photos, timing, working with kids, the whole 9 yards. She helped me pick the best location, based on my criteria and what I wanted my photos to look like. She also helped me select outfits that would best fit the location and theme. We texted several times, changing the date and time, based on weather constraints. Her flexibility was so appreciated! On the actual day of, to our surprise, both Michelle and Johnny showed up to work with us and take our photos! Such a welcome surprise to see both photographers! It made things so much easier - navigating the different spots and working with my young kids (2- and 4-yr olds). Not only was it an extra pair of hands, it was a highly skilled additional photographer! Michelle and Johnny worked together to find the best spots, angles, etc. Michelle paid attention to important details, such as the way my dress was positioned, the wind blowing strands of hair into the flowers I had. These are the types of details that I have seen ruin photos. A good photographer won’t just click away, they will look at their subject and position them in the best ways possible to enhance the photos. Aside from their great personalities while taking the photos, they also worked with me to make sure that the finalized, edited photos looked exactly how I wanted. They sent me some proofs (as I explained earlier, I’m picky and wanted a soft, dreamy type of feel to the photos) to make sure the colors and feel was what I wanted. I LOVED working with this company! I couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience from start to finish. I so highly recommend them.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!! Lokahi Photography did an amazing job capturing our moment. From the first point of contact, Michelle and and Johnny were excited and incredibly helpful with planning the proposal, down to the details like recommended trail spots, best times of the day, and more. Our photographer on Kauai, Braden, did a terrific job and was a pleasure to work with. He was super nice, casual and fun, and was very professional along the entire shoot, capturing ideal views and lighting conditions. Not to mention he helped cue up the surprise moment without tipping off the fiancé. The photos speak for themselves. They are all SO beautiful and capture our story perfectly.
