This review is long over due, but back in December my husband and I visited Maui on our Honeymoon! Aaron is an avid swimmer, where as I just swim sometimes. We visited Paul on our second day on the island as a way to figure out where and how to snorkel! Paul was awesome! Gave us a lot of information and gave us a run through of tips and tricks for the best snorkel experience we could have! He made us feel safe, and answered all of our dumb questions! He even educated us about what we saw, as well as advice on what we could see on other spots on the island. Highly Recommend going out with Paul; especially if you want a fun, but educational snorkel experience! Oh and bonus, he takes pics!!
If I could give Paul 6 stars, I would. The snorkeling far exceeded my expectations! Paul is very knowledgeable about all things ocean, but also knows all the cool spots to find the critters! I am NOT a confident swimmer, so Paul had 2 floatation devices for me. He gave me time to ask questions and get comfy with the equipment, then off we went! He stopped periodically to gauge my comfort level and to point out various fishes and coral. Trust Paul! He found the turtle cleaning station with SIX turtles having a little spa day! This was the best adventure. I highly recommend it! Also, Paul is communicative, professional, and has great island vibes. Pics are included.
What a great experience! I’m a great swimmer, but very much insecure in the ocean. Paul was fantastic, I felt so comfortable with him the whole time. He takes incredible care of his equipment, and it was amazingly clean and comfortable…as if I had bought it brand new. He had great information to share about what we were seeing and provided great quality pics of the experience that day. We will 100% be telling anyone coming to Maui to connect with Paul for an awesome personal snorkeling experience.
This was such an amazing experience and one of the best highlights of our trip in Maui! Paul was super kind, patient, and knowledgeable. My godmother (63 years old) does not know how to swim lol but Paul stayed and swam with her to make sure she was safe and comfortable. To my surprise she really enjoyed the whole experience and wasn’t scared at all! Paul also taught us many fun facts about the ocean, reefs, and the fishes we encountered. Paul also provided us with all the equipments we needed so we didn’t have to worry about anything! (He even had floaty board for my godmother to help give her extra support!) We saw so many colorful and fun fishes and got lucky and saw many sea turtles (6-7 of them!) My family and I are super happy we booked this trip with Paul and would highly recommend it! :)
I wanted to do a trip with the Maui Ocean Center. I saw the eco-snorkeling experience with Maui Conservation Snorkel Tours and decided to try it rather than a commercial snorkel tour from a boat. Paul is a Marine Biologist at the Maui Ocean Center and strongly advocates for the ocean ecosystem. The best part of the Maui Conservation Snorkel tour was it was private. My family of four met Paul on a local beach. He ensured we had reef-safe sunscreen and set us up with masks, fins, and flotation belts. We followed him through the channel in the coral reef. He described aquatic life and pointed out fish and corals. It is a perfect educational experience for the whole family. He made sure we felt safe on the adventure. We went to an area where fish groomed turtles. We saw more than ten turtles there. The tour included pictures using his GoPro camera. He took pics of our family with a Maui mountain backdrop and included underwater highlights from the day snorkeling. The tour included pictures and time stamps of our special time in Maui with our family. I highly recommend going on the beach snorkeling tour with Paul.
